Hello, and welcome! My name is Sallianne Robinson, and I’m a parenting coach with more than 20 years of Early Years teaching experience, with particular expertise in Forest School. I’m here to help you find peace, calm and confidence as you build relationships with your children that are based on mutual trust, respect, understanding and care.
I believe that to enable our children to flourish and learn to their true and fullest potential, we need to understand what they need from us. Only when we fully appreciate our role as their first educators can we embrace and enjoy the challenging and amazing job of parenting.
I’ve been working in Early Years since 2002, and became a nursery manager in 2005. I have been an accredited Early Years professional (EYPS) since 2010 – which is also the year I qualified as a Forest School Level 3 leader. We transformed the nursery where I worked into the first Forest School in Surrey, and led a drive to inspire others with a vision for Forest Schools. This involved interacting with Forest School practitioners from all over, as well as working actively with Kingston University, Surrey County Council, and a local childminding group to spread the word. In 2017 I moved to an all-day Forest School, where I support the teaching, training and mentoring of parents, the educator team, and the children.
Working closely with parents made me aware of how overwhelmed and stressed, and how lacking in parenting skills, many young parents were. I wanted to help parents of young children establish good parenting foundations, and I was ready to expand the scope of my career. In 2021 I became accredited as a coach specialising in parenting, and two years later I started my own company to support parents both online and in the nursery. I also started “The Parenting Podcast with Sallianne Robinson”, which is available on my website www.youandmeparenting.com and on Spotify and Apple Play.
I now divide my time equally between my two passions: Forest School and parent coaching.
In my private time, I am a grandma to my beautiful grandson Jack, who was born in early summer of 2022. In addition to spending time with him and other family members, my partner and I love to travel in our camper van. We’ve explored lovely destinations all over the UK, and have plans to travel into Europe.
We love walking in the forests and along the coast, and we’re grateful supporters of the RSPB. There is no better way to relax and reconnect with what’s important than setting up camp and lighting a fire, or waking with the sun and cooking breakfast outdoors! My forest school skills are coming into play in my home life too!
